Word War

Word Warriors Unite!

The 2009 Word War is complete. Though we lost by just over 100,000 words, we had a higher average word count than NYC! Great job Chicago!

Each year Chicago participates in a Word War against another NaNoWriMo region. Previously, we've competed against such regions as Canada::Toronto and most recently the entirety of New Zealand (effectively crushing the kiwis into a delicious fruit smoothie pulp).

"So what exactly IS a word war?" you may be asking yourself. It's a competition between two (or more) NaNo regions to write the most words (and/or the highest average number of words per writer) during the competition month. During the 2009 season, we faced the ENTIRE New York City region!
